Album review of Eyes On The Highway

Saybia is back again

½ million sold albums, plenty of concerts from Greenland to China, 3 worn down VW-Transporters and more than 150.000 kilometres on the roads, that’s the status on the band, whom is one of the Danish rocks most pronounced and massive breakthroughs – and now they are back: Saybia.

5 guys from Fyn, that made Denmark break-out in enthusiastic joy for 5 years ago, and afterwards conquered foreign territory with the album “The Second You Sleep”: The beginning to the somewhat invert follow-up album nearly split the band apart, and the record showed the inner lines in the truth about “the hard number 2” – but also as a necessary aspect, where the bands soberness and solidarity were tested to the limit.

The challenges are long overcame and replaced by a clarity, so with the release of the 3rd album, recorded in the bands own – and homemade – A Kind Of Eden studio, Saybia can now put new lengths to their already impressing CV.

From the humble love declaration “Angel” over “On Her Behalf” – about humans getting killed on others behalf – to “A Walk In The Park”, which on several levels is a beautiful walk. Its histories played and song by a clarified band, which has turned up the pace, joy, each other and them selves.

With other words – and with a chance of falling in the deep precipice gap with clichés – you sit with Saybias to date absolutely best album.

Saybia er her igen
