Album review of Eyes On The Highway

Where did the nerve disappear to

I’ve always had some problems with Saybia.

Søren Huus’ superior voice in front, solid craft and some melodies, which could get any Sunday cleaning done much easier. On track 3 some of the quintet’s glamour disappears.

I’ve trouble catching the lyrics, which in the past held a soft banality – now misses the nerve, which can compensate for the original words. And the good choruses disappear to. The 1st “On Her Behalf”, “Eyes On The Highway” and “Angel” starts promising, but lacks the magic thereafter. Perhaps Saybia has found their audience, who enjoys the Danish Coldplay Light to the full. For them there are plenty to come for. Again.

Åbnerne ‘On Her Behalf’, ‘Eyes On the Highway’ og ‘Angel’ lægger lovende ud, men så kniber det altså derfra. Igen.
